If you receive notice of:

  • An investigatory meeting
  • A performance review tied to potential discipline
  • A fact-finding meeting
  • A meeting involving policy violations

Step 1: Contact a Union Representative Immediately

Do not attend alone.

Under due process principles outlined in disciplinary procedures, you have the right to representation in investigatory matters that may lead to discipline.

Step 2: Do Not “Explain It Away” Before Representation

Avoid:

  • Sending long emails
  • Admitting fault before facts are reviewed
  • Speculating about what happened
  • Volunteering additional information

Step 3: Gather Documentation

Bring:

  • Pairing details
  • Relevant messages (ACARS, email, etc.)
  • Witness names
  • Screenshots
  • Timeline of events

Step 4: Stay Professional in the Meeting

We are there to:

  • Ensure proper procedure
  • Ensure questions are appropriate
  • Clarify contractual protections
  • Protect you from improper questioning

We are not there to obstruct or argue emotionally.
