Daphne has been an Endeavor Air Flight Attendant for just over ten years. Over the past 8 years she has been actively involved with the AFA. While attending union meetings, it became clear that Daphne wanted to know more than just what the AFA could do for her. She wanted to know what the AFA is doing for the entire Flight Attendant community. Daphne's work with the AFA started as a Local 46 Info Rep, then selected as MEC Reserve Chair, progressing to LEC Grievance Chair, and elected LEC VP Local 46.
Yes, being a Union Officer can be stressful and time consuming, however serving our members can be rewarding. Those thank yous from the members I serve keeps me motivated and gives me strength to keep fighting for our members, both internally and externally.
During my short tenure as an elected officer and appointed chair, I have had the pleasure of gaining knowledge from training and working with past and present officers and chairs. What is most important is learning from our members, your voice deserves our listening ear.
Each of us has talents, passions, and wisdom to offer our members and we must work together to be successful. It is important as leaders that we communicate, lead by example and always try to work together to get things accomplished. I truly believe "Stronger Together. Better Together".
In my leisure time I love spending time with my family and friends, especially my grandchildren. Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons because I can spend time outside gardening, riding my bike and walking. My sister and I take full advantage of the opportunity to travel to countries and states that we have always wanted to see.
