Thomas Burton Letter of Interest for MEC Vice President

Social share icons

Dear MEC,

This letter is to express my interest in the position of MEC Vice President. I took a step back from union work and have made the decision that I want to do this work for Endeavor Air Flight Attendants. I am committed to ensuring that we all work together towards the same goals and objectives.

I have over 11 years of Union experience and long-standing relationships with management and the International office. I believe in the fundamental union philosophy that there is power in numbers and unity. We NEED to have unity of purpose and resolve when functioning internally as a MEC and with members. In addition, we need unity of purpose and progression when dealing management.

I have been an Endeavor Flight Attendant for more than 15 years. I began my career at Mesaba Airlines, which eventually became Endeavor. I have been involved with AFA-CWA from almost the beginning of my career. I began as an Info Rep, Grievance Rep, Communications Chair, MEC Secretary - Treasurer, LEC President and  MEC President.

I am committed to our Flight Attendants and during this term we will have some very important  work to do with contract negotiations and much more. I am ready willing and able to do this work. My work ethic and commitment to this work is evident in the long tenure that I have had with Endeavor and AFA-CWA. I am excited about the new opportunities that present themselves to us as leaders with new management at Endeavor Air.

Thank you for your consideration.

Thomas Burton
